Scales Northwest’s History

Scales Northwest has a long, rich history of quality and excellence. We have given five decades of support to the Northwest and delivered on promises to our customers.

Scales Northwest began as Powell All-Steel Scales, Inc. in 1959 with a goal of bringing high-quality scale sales and service to Oregon. Our company grew to serve a larger area of the Pacific Northwest and became known as Powell Scales, merging with other scale shops and becoming Powell-Inland Scales Northwest in 2005. As our service area continued to grow, we became Scales Northwest.

Today, Scales Northwest maintains a reputation for quality by offering products from leading manufacturers supported by unbeatable customer service. Our service area covers Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, California and Nevada. We’ve even done scale projects in Alaska.

As a full-service scale company, we do more than sell industrial scales and weighing equipment. At Scales Northwest, we handle every aspect of a project, from the removal of existing scales and construction of truck scale foundations to the calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of any scale. Our team provides sales and service for everything from railroad track scales to laboratory balances. We also offer scale rental and leasing options for a variety of temporary or seasonal weighing needs.

We have experience with solutions for unique applications including steel mills, pipe foundries weighing hot pipes, and arena scales for livestock auctions. We work closely with manufacturers to ensure scales are made to fit the exact needs of each application.

Our main office is in Scio, Oregon, but we also have offices in Spokane and Benton City, Washington as well as Twin Falls and Nampa, Idaho. Additional remote offices allow us to offer reliable scale service in surrounding states, including Utah, California and Nevada.
